From humble beginnings in a New Jersey garage with just ten rolls of grasscloth, Phillip Jeffries has grown into one of the world’s most respected names in luxury wallcovering and interior designers regularly turn to them. Today, their innovative studio stocks over one million yards of wallcovering so that designers can draw from a vast and inspiring palette of natural textures, rich textiles, seamless papers, and high-performance vinyls.

de Gournay

There may be no wallcovering brand as beautiful, fantastical, romantic, and intricate as de Gournay. Known for their exquisite hand-painted wallpapers, de Gournay has long set the standard for artisanal wallcoverings that feel like fine art. Rooted in a deep knowledge of historical design, traditional techniques, and meticulous craftsmanship, the brand boasts a diverse portfolio ranging from Chinoiserie gardens and Japanese landscapes to embroidered wallcoverings and scenic panoramas.

Each piece is handcrafted by trained artisans who use time-honored materials like silk, linen, and metallic thread. These wallpapers feel heirloom-worthy from the moment they’re installed. Whether you opt for wallpaper featuring dripping wisteria from their Japanese and Korean collection or an accent wall adorned with swinging monkeys, de Gournay is iconic.

What We Love About This Brand

At Laura U, we are constantly seeking materials that bring both narrative and nuance to a space; de Gournay delivers just that. Every wallpaper, fabric, and porcelain design is imbued with artistry and emotion. We especially love their embroidered wallcoverings, which add texture, movement, and even acoustic benefits to a room.

Duchateau

Founded in 2006 in Southern California, DuChateau has reimagined what it means to combine luxury and architectural precision in interior design. Though celebrated for its European-crafted hardwood and luxury vinyl flooring, the brand has also made a sophisticated shift into walls and ceilings. They now produce hand-finished wall panels and original wallcovering collections.

What We Love About This Brand

At Laura U, we’re drawn to materials that pair form and function. Duchateau’s wallcoverings and wood panels have architectural depth, tactile richness, and a sculptural quality that feels intentional and refined yet never tired. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted, often by hand, and their focus on natural finishes, acoustic performance, and dimensional design makes them so incredibly special.

Founded by California-based artist and designer Kate Miller, Elworthy Studio pairs soulful artistry with sustainability. Drawing from natural forms and urban textures, Miller’s hand-rendered motifs are created with ink, rust dyeing, charcoal, and watercolor. We love the moody, organic sensibility these designs bring to wallpaper and fabric.

Each is produced using eco-conscious methods and printed to order in the U.S. on FSC-certified paper or natural grasscloth using non-toxic, water-based inks. With a palette that is equal parts earthy and refined, Elworthy Studio’s wallpapers feel both deeply personal and quietly bold.

What We Love About This Brand

There aren’t many wallpapers that can be both bold and elegant, but Elworthy studio’s wallpapers balance raw, hand-drawn imperfection with a soft sophistication that translates beautifully into both modern and traditional interiors. We also love their unwavering commitment to sustainability. From biodegradable grasscloths to low-VOC inks and domestic production, every choice they make reflects integrity and intention.
